Station 10: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross
Luke 23:33-34 – 33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. 34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
Although we are not in Jerusalem, we are now at the point in the story called Calvary, which is Latin for “place of the skull”. With the pain of crucifixion, and the increased difficulty of breathing as he begins to suffocate, Jesus still cries out with compassion. Sinful humanity receives a blessing from the sinless Christ: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Take a nail and hammer it into the wood as a symbol of your sin which Jesus died for. As you do, claim the promise that you are forgiven, just as Jesus claimed from the cross.
