Station 7: Jesus Carries His Cross
John 19:17 – So they took Jesus, 17 and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.
Not only was Jesus beaten, but he was forced to carry the instrument that would be used to crucify him. This must have seemed like the longest walk with so many eyes watching and wondering how this would all unfold.
Look at the trees around you. Any tree could be used to make a cross; any tree which God created in Genesis 1. Reflect on the story of creation up until this point in the story. What are the high points? What are the low points? What are the points of the story where you see God’s power? What are the points of the story where God seems powerless?
